A Year of Evolution and Elegance

At Watches & Wonders Geneva 2025, Patek Philippe once again demonstrated why it remains at the summit of high watchmaking. The brand introduced a series of sophisticated releases that fuse classic aesthetics with modern engineering—highlighting its mastery of timeless design and forward-thinking craftsmanship.

Calatrava Ref. 6196P-001: Understated Sophistication

A refined addition to the iconic Calatrava line, the Ref. 6196P-001 is a study in restrained elegance. Encased in 38mm of polished platinum with brushed accents, the timepiece is paired with a rich chocolate brown alligator leather strap, offering a timeless yet contemporary presence.

The dial is a subtle salmon-toned rose-gilt opaline, featuring white gold hour markers and a delicately recessed small seconds subdial. Inside, the manually wound Calibre 30-255 PS movement powers the watch, offering a 65-hour power reserve along with a stop-seconds function for precise time-setting.

Priced at $47,130, this new Calatrava is a modern tribute to the minimalist sophistication that has defined the collection for decades.

The Cubitus Collection: A New Era Begins

For the first time in over 25 years, Patek Philippe introduces a brand-new collection: the Cubitus line. Designed with a contemporary spirit and a sportier aesthetic, the collection aims to appeal to a younger generation of collectors—without sacrificing the craftsmanship and prestige the brand is known for.

Ref. 5822P-001
This platinum model features a striking blue dial with horizontal striping and an elegant display of grand date, day, and moonphase complications. It is powered by the new Calibre 240 PS CI J LU—a self-winding movement developed over four years and secured by six patents.

Ref. 5821/1A-001
Crafted in stainless steel, this piece presents a vibrant green dial with a date aperture at 3 o’clock. It runs on the Calibre 26-330 S C, a self-winding movement equipped with a stop-seconds function and 21k gold rotor.

Ref. 5821/1AR-001
This two-tone variation blends stainless steel with rose gold and features a rich blue dial with the same technical specifications as the 5821/1A model. The result is a refined, versatile option for those who appreciate modern styling with classic DNA.

With the Cubitus collection, Patek Philippe signals a new era—bridging tradition with a more contemporary, lifestyle-driven approach to haute horlogerie.

Farewell to Iconic References

Alongside its new releases, Patek Philippe has begun to streamline its catalog by retiring several popular models:

  • The Nautilus Moonphase 5712A in stainless steel has been officially discontinued, with only precious metal versions continuing.

  • The Aquanaut 5167/1A-001 featuring a full stainless steel bracelet is also being phased out, while the rubber strap version remains available.

These changes mark a shift toward a more curated and exclusive lineup, aligning with the brand’s broader strategy to elevate its collections.

Looking Ahead

Patek Philippe’s 2025 collection stands as a testament to the maison’s enduring ability to balance legacy with innovation. The new Calatrava and Cubitus models reinforce the brand’s commitment to refinement, precision, and timeless beauty.

Whether you’re a seasoned collector or an enthusiast drawn to craftsmanship of the highest order, the 2025 lineup is a compelling reflection of where Patek Philippe has been—and where it’s going next.
